Carpool Information:
The designated meeting location provides an opportunity for participants to connect and coordinate transportation prior to departure for the trailhead. Carpooling is not organized or facilitated by the hike leader, and I do not participate in ride-sharing arrangements. All transportation decisions are made at each individual’s discretion and responsibility. If you carpool, please consider providing a couple of dollars for gas to the driver.
Safety and Group Hiking:
Stay with the group behind the leader. If you don’t want to stay with us, you can always go hiking on your own, though it’s not recommended. Don’t run ahead. If you start to get too far behind, shout ahead before you’re out of range for someone to hear you. I always endeavor to keep track of everyone’s progress, but ultimately, it’s your responsibility to communicate what you need.
Weather: The weather in the mountains can change quickly. Its EVERYONE's responsibility to check the weather. Vegas can be hot but an unexpected storm in the mountains can become very cold. ALWAYS bring a rain jacket or poncho. Staying dry will save your life. Do not wear cotton clothing and bringing an extra layer is always a good idea.
