Mack's North - L 5 Chip / Qiang Biddison earns Trophy Chip

When you RSVP please indicate if you have a high clearance vehicle that you are willing to drive to trailhead.

The number of hikers will be determined by the number of 4WD / AWD vehicles available and the seating capacity.

Group size will be kept small - depending on HCV availability.

We need high clearance vehicles for the 3 mile dirt road. When you RSVP, please indicate if you have a HCV and are willing to drive. Jeeps or trucks are ideal but most SUV's are good enough.

This hike follows a drainage that gradually rises out of Mack's Canyon to the erosion belt of Mack's Peak, turns left and traverses a section of loose rock, climbs up some steep limestone slabs and finishes with a knife-edge traverse to the peak.

Safety is the first priority of our hikes. Therefore, all hikers in our group, including another leader who joins us, will stay behind the leader and in front of the sweeper.

Group Hiking: Stay with the group behind the leader. If you don’t want to stay with us, you can always go hiking on your own, though it’s not recommended. Don’t run ahead. If you start to get too far behind, shout ahead before you’re out of range for someone to hear you. I always endeavor to keep track of everyone’s progress, but ultimately, it’s your responsibility to communicate what you need.
