Charleston Peak L6

Meeting place is Smith's Marketplace on Skye Canyon near the Burger King**

Let's do Nuvagantu (aka Charlie aka Mt. Charleston Peak).

NOTE THE EARLY START TIME

We will go up the South Loop Trail and back potentially descending the Old South Loop Trail.

This is a long strenuous hike at high elevation. Make sure you are in good condition before signing up for this hike. Pace will be moderate with many short breathers. Bring plenty of water (at least 3L), snacks for energy, and proper clothing for different temps.

What to wear:

•Hiking Shoes with vibram soles •Comfortable hiking clothes •Light jacket or windbreaker •Sunscreen lotion, chapstick, sunhat, sunglasses etc •Cold weather Gloves and beanie

Safety is the first priority of our hikes. Therefore, all hikers in our group, including another leader who joins us, will stay behind the leader. The sweeper will be last in line.

Group Hiking: Stay with the group behind the leader. If you don’t want to stay with us, you can always go hiking on your own, though it’s not recommended. Don’t run ahead. If you start to get too far behind, shout ahead before you’re out of range for someone to hear you. I always endeavor to keep track of everyone’s progress, but ultimately, it’s your responsibility to communicate what you need.
