Las Vegas Mountaineers Club (LVMC)

Founded in July 1994, the Las Vegas Mountaineers Club was established by a dedicated group of individuals with a shared love for the mountains. We are a community of hikers, climbers, backpackers, and mountaineers—ranging from beginners to seasoned veterans—who aim to share experience and knowledge with others.

What We Do

Our members lead and participate in a wide variety of activities across the local Las Vegas mountains, the Sierra range, and the coastal ranges of California and Washington:

• Alpine & Ice: Technical alpine routes, alpine ascents, and ice climbing.
• Rock & Trail: Rock climbing, hiking, and backpacking.
• Winter Sports: Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and back-country skiing.
• 50 Classic Peaks: Join our "50 Peaks Club(lvmc.org)" by summiting our curated list of the best peaks in the Las Vegas area.

Training & Gear

• Formal Courses: We offer programs including rock climbing basics, map and compass navigation, snow school, and backpacking.
• Free Club Gear: Members can borrow club gear at no cost before committing to a purchase.

Community & Stewardship

We are committed to safe and clean outdoor practices through the Adopt-A-Highway program (managing a section of Highway 157) and the Oak Creek Trail in Red Rock Canyon. We also participate in annual trail clean-ups in the Spring Mountains and Lake Mead areas.
