Founded in January 2011 and still run by its original organizer, N2BD Local Adventure and Travel is a community of active adults who share a passion for thrilling, mid-to-advanced outdoor activities. Whether you are single or part of a couple, if you love getting your adrenaline pumping, you belong here.
What We Do: From quick local weekend getaways to epic world journeys, we explore incredible destinations together.
Our activities include: Land & Mountains: Hiking, Backpacking, Camping, Rock Climbing, Canyoneering, Mountaineering, and Snow Skiing/Snowboarding.
Water: Kayaking, White Water Rafting, and Sailing.
Motorsports: ATVing and Snowmobiling.
Where We’ve Been: Over the last decade and a half, our group has explored major national parks like Yosemite, Zion, Acadia, Yellowstone, and the Smoky Mountains, alongside dozens of state parks across Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan.
Our Philosophy: Real Connections & Continuous Learning. Genuine Camaraderie: We intentionally keep event sizes manageable so members can build real, lasting friendships. All Skill Levels Welcome: You don't have to be a pro. We cater to everyone from beginners to experts. We aren't afraid to take classes to learn new skills, and we frequently hire professional guides with local expertise to keep our trips safe and educational.
Step Up & Lead: If you have an expert skill in a specific sport and want to organize or lead a future adventure, we would love to hear from you!
Check out our calendar to see our upcoming events. We can't wait to explore with you!
