Away from the Las Vegas Strip, the western edge of the Las Vegas valley, from Lone Mountain north to Mountain's Edge in the south, offers the best year-round hiking and outdoor activities for locals and visitors.
The new Adventure Frens (AF) platform avoids spam, scams, and management complication by requiring a Google, Facebook, or Apple account to log in. Access AF online or use the Apple iPhone or Android phone app. After signing up to Adventure Frens, join our AF Summerlin+ Outdoors group.
We are a community-led outdoors group. Across the Las Vegas valley, we will host easy to intermediate hikes, tennis, volleyball, softball, yoga, and other outdoor "adventures". Events tend to be on the valley's west side.
Some hikes and other events will be cross-posted with local Meetup groups to bring more friendly faces to our events. RSVP count here may not always reflect total participation.
Hiking Pace: Casual, social, and steady. No hiker left behind.
Our Organizers: Group hikes are hosted by various local leaders. Look at each event description for specific meeting points and trail details.
Hike Difficulty: We give preference to mild or moderate foothill and peak trails.
Each event will have its own detailed description. Our weekly intermediate level Ike's Peak hike in southwest Las Vegas is located west of Rhodes Ranch, north of Mountain's Edge. During hot months: Sundays at 6 AM. Cooler months start at 1 PM on Saturdays.
As an AF member, you can always set up and host your own personal or private event using the +Create Adventure button. If you'd like to step up and host public events for the community, message me to become a secondary organizer for this group.
Approved organizers can host events directly under the Summerlin+ Outdoors banner!
To keep things simple, Adventure Frens does not have its own event photo feature. However, you can view weekly photos a few days after each event on our Facebook group.
